Medical Outreach Minitampak

Collaboration between RC Luyang, ICS Rotaract Club, Care Malaysia & Kota Marudu General Hospital to provide health screening to Kg. Minitampak, Kota Marudu in Jan 2018.

On 28th Jan 2018, the Rotaract Club of INTI College Sabah together with Malaysian Care organised this mini medical outreach to a small village called Kg Minitampak 3, in Kota Marudu District. Perched 684m on a hillside, the village is accessed through an 8KM continuous uphill road that becomes a very slippery mud track especially during the rainy season. This outreach is also supported by the Rotary Club of Luyang and the Kota Marudu District Hospital with the aim of assessing the needs of this area and its surrounding villages. More than 100 villagers turned up, and many of them came from other more remote villages from as far as Ulu Bengkoka, which means a half-day trek to our location. There is certainly a huge need for medical services in this area, and the Rotary Club of Luyang is looking forward to organise a more comprehensive outreach the the area in the near future.
